Hello, I’m Lauren! Welcome to my section of the Mind Works page! I’m so glad you’re here.
I earned my degree from UTSA and have experience working with a diverse range of clients in private practice and academic settings. I’ve had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults, including individuals experiencing significant emotional distress and more complex mental health concerns. Some of my primary areas of experience include anxiety and depression, mood disorders, self-esteem, life transitions, trauma, self-harm, and suicidal ideation.
How can I help?
I take a nurturing, person-centered approach to therapy and believe that genuine connection is at the heart of meaningful therapeutic work. My goal is to create a space where you or your child, can feel understood, supported, and comfortable showing up as your authentic self. I want therapy to feel relatable, collaborative, and approachable, while still giving you the tools and support you need to create meaningful change.
I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, and Humanistic approaches. Together, we can work toward greater self-acceptance, confidence, emotional awareness, and empowerment while developing coping skills that actually feel realistic for everyday life.
I also believe therapy doesn’t have to feel stiff or overly clinical. There can be room for good energy, genuine conversations, and even a few laughs along the way.
A little about me…
When I’m not wearing my therapist hat, you can usually find me collecting Sanrio items (especially Hello Kitty!) or taking pictures of my cat when she least expects it. I’m a big believer that you don’t have to leave your personality at the door when you walk into therapy.
Whether you’re navigating a difficult transition, struggling with your confidence, feeling overwhelmed by your emotions, or simply trying to better understand yourself, I’d love to meet you where you are and walk alongside you from there.
Welcome—I’m glad you’re here!
