Hello and welcome to Mind Works! I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) offering therapy to children, teens, and their support persons. I strive to create a safe space for my clients to further understand themselves and their worlds by exploring and developing treatment goals and practicing new skills.
I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University in San Diego. I have ten years of experience providing therapy services to young children, elementary-age children, and adults. I have worked with clients diagnosed with mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders, as well as self-injurious behavior and complex trauma. I also have extensive experience providing early intervention services to young children who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
How I Can Help
My approach to therapy is client-centered and is based on the principles of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and honesty. In sessions, I use evidence-based treatment practices, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), to complement the client’s intrinsic strengths and foster change. To engage the client’s support system in the therapy process, I can provide parent training, referrals to community resources, and psychoeducation, as indicated to strengthen the client’s support systems.
More About Me
As a California native, I am new to the state of Texas but have been enjoying all of the wonderful museums, parks, and amazing food with my family. I also enjoy open water swimming, reading, and spending time with my husband, son, and two cats.
