Hello, my name is Jennifer Diaz, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I graduated from Texas State University with my Bachelor’s degree in Education and then earned my Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in counseling from Our Lady of the Lake University. I am experienced in working with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, mood disorders, relationship conflicts, academic concerns, family issues, and low self-esteem.
How I Can Help
Growing up is hard work, and parenting through it can feel completely overwhelming at times. Sometimes, you need a little help and that is where Mind Works comes in. Whether your child is struggling with big emotions, stress, or behavioral changes, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
I have approximately ten years’ experience working as an LPC with children and families. I incorporate parents into my sessions as they are a vital part of the therapeutic process. My approach is collaborative and creative. My space is safe, secure, and nurturing where clients can process their emotions and fears. I use a variety of play, art and expressive activities to help children communicate their needs, while also teaching coping strategies and social skills as needed. Understanding the importance of building trust and rapport with children and families is a critical part of the treatment plan and success of therapy in accomplishing client’s goals. True healing happens when the whole family is supported. That’s why I partner closely with parents to offer coaching, and techniques to provide a clear path forward without judgement.
