About Me

Welcome! My name is Iris and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, and their families. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Our Lady of the Lake University.

I have experience working with children and teens in school, community, and clinical settings, helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, emotional regulation difficulties, social challenges, life transitions, and family stress. I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive environment where young people feel understood, valued, and empowered to grow.

How I Can Help

As a therapist, I recognize that children often communicate through play rather than words alone. I use developmentally appropriate, play-based interventions to help children express emotions, build coping skills, strengthen self-confidence, and work through difficult experiences.

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each child’s unique needs. Drawing from Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, I help children and adolescents develop emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy problem-solving skills. I also value partnering with caregivers to help children build skills that support their success at home, school, and within their relationships.

More About Me

Outside of my work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, getting creative through arts and crafts, and trying new recipes in the kitchen. These activities help me stay grounded, connected, and inspired, and they remind me of the importance of balance, creativity, and meaningful relationships in everyday life.
