Hi there! My name is Chelsea; I am a Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate. I earned my Bachelors of Science degree from Texas State University in 2020 and later received my Masters of Science degree in Professional Counseling from Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi in 2023. Throughout my time I have gained experience and worked with individuals, families and couples ranging from ages 3 and up. With this, I have become so passionate about working with children and adolescents because I believe it is important for them to feel empowered and confident in themselves as they continue to grow in their own person. Over time I have gained experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood dysregulation, life transitions, intellectual disabilities, and autism.
How I Can Help
I want to provide a space where your child feels welcome and safe no matter their age, experience or background. By using their interests, hobbies, and unique personalities, we will explore different ways to help them achieve their overall personal goals within counseling. Using skills and techniques from Cognitive Behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and solution-focused therapy, I aim to help your child in a way that best suits them and their own personality. I strongly believe it is important to help anyone find their own strength in their voice by building their ability to regulate their emotions while understanding their own thoughts, beliefs, and values. I hope to provide a collaborative and supportive environment for any child and their family to help build on the resources and skills needed to help their emotional and social growth.
More About Me
During my free time I enjoy spending time in the Rio Grande Valley with my family and traveling with my friends. While with them I enjoy playing games and watching shows/movies or finding new foods or drinks to try. On my own time I love to read thrillers, work on creative projects, watch thriller/horror movies, bake, and play tennis.
