Allison Cook

Allison Cook, LPC

Hey y’all! My name is Allison Cook, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I earned my bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College in 2013 followed by my Master of Arts in Counseling with Specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 2018. I bring with me 5 years of experience working with at-risk children, adolescents, caregivers, and families in a group home setting. I have worked with adoption, anger management, anxiety, behavioral related issues, depression, grief, suicidal thoughts, trauma, issues with family/sibling/friend relationships, issues at school, and more.

How Can I Help?

Counseling kids and teens is my joy and meeting them where they are on their journey is what I love to do. We are a team, and most importantly, it is with the family’s help that solutions can be implemented to the benefit of everyone. My training includes Structural and Strategic Therapy, Trauma, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – Basic Training, and I am currently pursuing my Registered Play Therapist (RPT) credentialing where I integrate Adlerian, Child-Centered, and Gestalt theories. My goal is to provide a safe place for you and your child to facilitate growth. It would be my honor to work with you and equip both you and your child with the tools necessary to achieve the goals we set!

More About Me

I am originally from Mississippi and grew up loving college football. I am a huge SEC fan, and so glad Texas teams finally got on board! In my free time you can usually find me at a friend’s house playing video games or Sage Quest (RPG). I enjoy watching sports and movies, music, reading, cooking, baking, exploring, painting, and playing board games.
