Robert Wilcox, LPC

Hello! My name is Robert Wilcox, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2001 and a Master of Arts degree in Community Counseling from Wayland Baptist University in 2014. I have years of employment experience providing direct care services to children, adolescents, and teenagers in different settings, including non-profit, community organizations, state government, and acute care mental health facility.

How I Can Help

I love what I do! I have a passion to serve those in need and use my training to help children process their traumatic experiences. I strive to offer a compassionate approach to develop an individualized treatment plan and goals in collaboration with the child and their caregiver. I have worked with children, adolescents with different diagnoses ranging from PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Adjustment Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and Substance Abuse Disorder. The evidenced based treatment modalities I most often incorporate in sessions include (TF-CBT) Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, (TBRI) Trust Based Relational Intervention, and child play techniques; In addition, I am familiar with (DBT) Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

Family is very important to me, and I enjoy spending time with my wife, son, and other relatives. I enjoy attending church, reading, movies, sporting activities, basketball, football, miniature golf, bowling, and video games.
