About Me

Welcome! I’m LaShondra Giles, a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting individuals and families through life’s challenges. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University–San Marcos, 2006 and a Master of Education in School Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio, 2017. With a background rooted in both education and mental health, I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents and their families in public school environments, helping them create behavioral and academic plans to encourage growth at home and in the classroom. I’ve also supported adolescents in acute care and residential treatment settings, leading psychoeducational groups focused on emotional regulation and coping strategies. I specialize in supporting individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, behavioral challenges, and adjustment disorders.

How Can I Help

I believe in creating a safe, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, empowered, and acknowledged. Therapy I provide includes Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

More about Me

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my family—whether that’s playing virtual reality and board games or enjoying the beach. I also love expressing myself creatively through gardening, carpentry, painting, and pottery.
